1 in 8 people in our country don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
In response to this critical situation, the American League of Orchestras has called on its members including Symphony of the Southwest to join together for an unprecedented effort to collect food donations by orchestras across the country, throughout the month of March 2009.
Inspired by the film The Soloist, in theaters April 24, the League in partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization, are uniting to become a catalyst for change.
Making a difference to those in need couldn’t be easier. Symphony of the Southwest will collect non-perishable food items at our March 20 at Tempe Center for the Arts, March 21 at the Mesa Arts Center, and March 22 at the West Valley Art Museum concerts to benefit United Food Bank serving the greater Phoenix Area of Arizona.
