Up next – Tubby the Tuba & Friends – Saturday, November 21, 2:30pm

Thanks to everyone who attended the Gala Benefit concert last weekend!  The next Symphony of the Southwest concert will be on Saturday, November 21 at 2:30pm in the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center.  Join us for “Tubby the Tuba & Friends”, which will feature the Youth Symphony of the Southwest performing Debussy’s “Children’s Corner”, and the Symphony of the Southwest performing George Kleinsinger’s “Tubby the Tuba” and Camille Saint-Saens’s “Carnival of the Animals.”  It will be a fun-filled afternoon for the entire family!  Tickets for this concert are only $17, and can be purchased by calling the Mesa Arts Center box office at (480) 644-6500 or at their online box office.

Final Reminder – Gala Benefit Concert featuring Scott MacIntyre – Saturday, 7:30pm, Mesa Arts Center – Ikeda Theater

This Saturday, please join the Symphony of the Southwest for a Gala Benefit Concert featuring recent American Idol finalist Scott MacIntyre!  The program begins at 7:30pm in the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center.  Tickets are available by calling the Mesa Arts Center box office at (480) 644-6500 or at their online box office.   Tickets will also be available at the door on Saturday.


On the concert, the Symphony of the Southwest will perform medleys from the Sound of Music and the Music Man, a tribute to Henri Mancini, and three of Johannes Brahms’s Hungarian Dances.  Scott MacIntyre will be accompanied by the Symphony of the Southwest on three of his original works, plus Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and Loveland and Graham’s “You Raise Me Up.”  Scott will also be performing a Nocturne by Frederic Chopin, and performing a duet of his song “Autumn Leaves” with Symphony of the Southwest Principal Violist Patricia Cosand.


Hope you can make this special evening!  After the concert, Scott MacIntyre will be available for autographs and photos, and there will be an auction for signed memorabilia from the 10 American Idol finalists from the 2009 season.

Gala Benefit Concert this Saturday!

This Saturday, October 17, the Symphony of the Southwest will be hosting a Gala Benefit Concert featuring recent American Idol finalist Scott MacIntyre!  It starts at 7:30pm in the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center.  Tickets are $35, $45 and $55, and can be purchased by calling the Mesa Arts Center box office at (480) 644-6500 or at their online box office.
