We are pleased to present the poignant and moving opera Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti.This wonderfully imaginative story of a crippled boy who meets the three wise men on their way to see the Holy Child was originally created for television. The Youth Symphony of the Southwest joins forces with the SSW for a blockbuster program: Brahms Academic Festival Overture, Strauss Death and Transfiguration, and Mussorgsky-Ravel Pictures at an Exhibition.

High School art students from Mesa Public Schools are producing original art to be displayed on a video screen during the performance of “Pictures at an Exhibition.” A silent auction will be held in the lobby. Join us for an especially entertaining evening.

Description: The Symphony of the Southwest will play FREE concerts of Peter and the Wolf, by Sergei Prokofiev, on Monday and Tuesday, February 27 and 28, 2012 at the Mesa Arts Center, Ikeda Theater. The performances are scheduled for
9:30 am, 10:30 am, and (11:30 am if needed). All school children and home schooled children are invited. To secure a seat, email the administrator at
